Documentary Screening and Social Event, Sept 17, Widcombe Social Club 7-10pm

Film Screening | Policy Discussion | Food (& an open bar!) | Connection with Fellow Progressives

What would it mean to help the poor without preconditions? To address the precarity at the heart of poverty? And to stand in solidarity with, rather than offering charity to, those who are marginalised and forgotten?

“Unconditional” tells the story of two inspiring policy experiments that trialled unconditional basic income in India and Bangladesh. It shows what is possible when social assistance is rooted in principles of care, connection, and justice.

This evening, which is hosted by the University of Bath and the BANES Green Party, is open to all. It will combine open space for connection, the 30-minute film screening, a 30-minute open floor discussion about basic income as a policy idea, and food and drink. Come and mingle with fellow local progressives!
