The UBI Bath Beacon, in collaboration with the Autonomy Institute, is working on understanding how prison leavers’ lives are impacted by the introduction of unconditional cash transfers. Utilising the University of Bath’s UKRI funding award, the research combines a scoping review with an organic snowballing approach and interviews with experts from programmes that provide cash transfers to prison leavers, prison reform charities and CT-oriented academics.

 

The research highlights how CT’s increase the quality of the re-entry process and garner long term increases in desistance and quality of life.
